Mir fehlen ein wenig die Worte - ironisch bei dem Thema dieses Buches. Es geht um die Magie von Sprachen und gleichzeitig um Rassismus, Klassismus, Kolonialismus und Krieg. Letztere sind auf eine Art und Weise behandelt und kritisiert vor allem, wie ich’s bis dato in noch keinem Fiction-Buch gelesen habe. Wirklich wirklich gut, große Empfehlung meinerseits.

3.25 ⭐️ I gotta be honest, my brain just wasn’t locking in on this one for like the first 35%. The writing is very beautiful, but it felt like work to read. It’s not like it’s pretentious or hard to understand.. I think I just didn’t care enough and that’s on me!! The characters felt like vessels to get specific points across rather than being their own fleshed out personas, so I wasn’t really connecting with them. Things definitely pick up toward the end, but it didn’t hit me as hard as some other reviewers- again, because I just didn’t *care*. Oof. Really wanted to like this more!
