I’m obviously in the minority here, but I did not like this very much. The author is a skilled writer, which is what kept me going. So many people have said you don’t need to be a gamer to enjoy the story, but I really do think if I was a gamer, I would’ve enjoyed this a lot more. The plot was great but I was very bored until part 7, I believe, when more started happening and the plot was moving along. I first picked it up months ago and picked it up two more times after that, each time not making it very far, until I picked it up again this last time and deciding to just power through.

I didn’t want this book to end. My Silver Lake-residing, closeted-gamer heart felt a little like this book was written just for me. Very very very special.

It’s been years since I’ve been immediately hooked by a story and remained equally enthralled throughout the rest of it. I especially wish I could read the last third again for the first time.

I would pay a lot of money to play Ichigo!!! Like at least $75!!!!!!!! Maybe more!!

The characters in this book are so believable and relatable, and I loved how the book shows how there are always two sides to anything. Its such a hopeful story: things will somehow work out and pain isn't permanent. The writing style is thoughtful but very engaging and captivating, and the journeys of the characters are awesome to read.
