This book was excellent - a must-read for just about anyone. Carol Dweck gives examples that can apply to most peoples' personal and/or professional lives with concrete suggestions for how to proceed. This book was recommended multiple times and for a very good reason. I think it can have far-reaching implications for growth both personally and professionally

Didn’t love the writing style but the content was interesting and I learned quite a bit.

Noice.

What a bore to read! The premise of the book is incredibly exciting and potentially life-changing but the presentation of the theory was so repetitive and boring that I found it difficult to anticipate reading it. The theory of fixed vs growth mindset is inspiring and I would urge anyone to dig into the research behind it but this books just ain't it. It's full of random success stories and yet somehow manages to lack guidance on how to change our mindset or apply it to our daily life. It felt more like reading a long sales pitch of why one should subscribe to the theory and less like a comprehensive self-help book with actionable steps and sufficient research to back it up. Save yourself time and read a summary on the topic.

Yes, it was repetitive but I found it valuable and all the examples and applications help to weasel out the tricky nature of a fixed mindset that has been taught and that we may be carrying through our lives. Specifically, I found the part relating to parenting and small children in school very interesting and actionable. I agree, that the book could and perhaps should be shorter.
