Not like Flame Princess was a great or even solid character to begin with, but I'm pleased that the character assassination by transferring her into the Fionna & Cake Fanfic reality as a feral prince raised by fire lions was at least cute. (HE ONLY SPEAKS IN MEWS!)
Also, LSP got bishojo anime face in this one and becomes so irresistible to his subjects, they trap him in a glass sphere to gawk at his beauty forever.
...
Ok. Good thing it doesn't last as Fionna reverse-Sanji-plastic-surgery'd him back to normal.

Decided to pick this up because of the newly released Fionna and Cake spinoff. Obviously these comics were made Way before the spinoff was conceptualized, which explains some of the weirder lore like the Ice Queen plot twist or Fire Prince's lack of kingdom. Or at least, I thought it was weird haha. Either way, this was a quick, cute read.

I don't know if I've matched the correct edition of this to my own copy, so I don't know for sure if this does begin at volume one or if my copy starts somewhere in the middle. But as is, this book cannot stand on its own without the show. Even with a general knowledge of the show. There's not even the thinnest thread of child picture book morality or plot to keep things cohesive.

I do assume it's written for fans of the show of course, but it did end up in my hands and it is decidedly not for me. I also can't attest whether it's a fun read for fans of the show, either.
