Having a little more room to breathe works in this book’s favour, I think, and Soldeen is great fun as a “final boss”.
The “Live on Evil” feels a little cliche now, but I can’t get mad because I remember how it rocked my WORLD when I was little - I’m not the target demographic anymore, I can’t get too judgy.
I forgot how horror-adjacent this series got sometimes… can’t help but feel bad for all the people who died as worms

The scene in Raladin alone made my heart full. The ending was a bit rushed and anticlimactic, though. I'm really enjoying that these books can have the right amount of dark for the age range.

sorceress thaegan gulps her favourite food, in her cave with all her brood, and the names of her children are.... hot tot jin jod fi fly zan zod pik snik... lun lod and of course the dreaded ichabod!
