sfmcqueen's review against another edition
The storyline is all over the place and the male character already spent weeks on a boat fucking his slave who was greatful he didnt put her in the hold because she could read .
But it's okay because she had his slave killed by the guy they were sailing to go rescue.
And he took her siblings put of the slave offering to the mer people to be able to cross their waters.
So they're so totally even now, right?
Oh, and the casual flashback scene to a 15 year old being raped twice on her wedding night that was justified because her sister died so she needed to be useful somehow.
She was totally fine with it too because she was depressed.
This is why I don't read books written by men.

Moderate: Rape, Islamophobia, Slavery, and Adult/minor relationship
It's just bad.
