Ugh! I This book would have been fine, not great but acceptable, without the multiple SAs that added absolutely nothing to the story. I don’t understand the need to glorify the assaults but making them more graphic than the scenes between the MCs.
***You don’t heal SA by IMMEDIATELY having more sex!!! WTF was that?
Aside from that Larkin was stupid to be dumb.

This was very very close to dnf for me. I was enjoying it in the begining, it’s def dub con, but the tone is pretty fun and it was honestly giving someone hot kidnapped you and is nice to you how quick will you succumb to Stockholm syndrome. But the thing that ruined this book for me, besides the lack of major plot outside of smut was the non con.
This is something the authors warn about in the beginning of the book, which is great kudos to them for letting readers make informed decisions about what they’re about to read. I chose to read on unsure of how it would manifest and was willing to wait, see, and skim when necessary. But for each scene it just felt completely unnecessary and like it added nothing to the story besides shock value. This isn’t as a judgement to anyone who enjoyed the book thoroughly or to the authors. But for me, it just wasn’t giving and made the rest of the book not as enjoyable.
It kind of pulled me out of the dumb romance haze I get into where I ignore lack of plot for an easy romance to read.
On top of that, I also was not feeling the romance. There was a lot of smut, but I never felt a connection between the characters besides them having s*x. Idk it just ended up being not my vibe overall

I loved Larkin and Jade together. The plot was ok. I could have gone without the SA scenes. Jade was my favorite. His adoration and connection to Larkin was so cute and his little pet names like “my treasure” and “little gem” had me swooning.

There’s a lot here to comment on but I don’t know where to start. Jade is a dragon who can assume a mostly human form. And he’s decided to keep the virginal, naïve human co mistakenly stumbled into his den as a pet. Prince Larkin isn’t sure about this arrangement at first but Jade is very persuasive. Or, at least, he’s got persuasive parts to him. 😉 The interaction between these two is super hot. My only complaint was there’s a LOT of non-consensual sex scenes - I know the author warned about them in advance but it was still hard to read and very violent. Otherwise, I really enjoyed the story. Enough that I’m going to read the next book.
