I would give this series, but especially the first and last book a hundred stars if I could.
Kyla Stone is EXCEPTIONAL! You have to be to write a series with that many books that just don't miss!

Every character is so real and fleshed out.
I hope someday I meet a man who cherishes me as much as Liam did Hannah🥹

and omg, I am normally a romance reader, so them finally kissing in the 7.5 book... It felt like my birthday came early
I nearly cried cause I was so happy for them lol

Excellent wrap to the series. Great character growth in all our main POVs through the series. I would have loved an extended epilogue several years in the future.
My only true complaint with the series is the speed of the decline but maybe I just have to much faith in humanity/society that it wouldn't devolve quite that fast.

dark emotional sad tense fast-paced

4⭐️ Okay, wow. I don’t know how else to describe this series. I was sucked it from the very first book! I could not stop reading. I had to know more, I had to find out what happened, and I had so much hope that they would come out stronger at the end of the series.

There were some of the books that I thought were a little unnecessary, almost like the author just wanted to drag it out, but I devoured them anyways. There was always something new that the characters had to face and overcome. There was a lot of violence, gore, death, murder, and more. Definitely read the trigger warning before picking up this series.

There were some unexpected twists, but overall, it was a great series with great characters. I loved all the main characters. I loved seeing them evolve into a community that helped each other. My heart hurt for so many of them and all they went through, all the loss they suffered. I loved seeing so many of them be strong in their faith and wanting to help those in needed—not being selfish.

I loved Hannah. Her strength and kindness. Her overcoming the awful things that happened to her and finding happiness by the end.

I loved Liam. Everything about him. I’m so glad he found Hannah and they grew so close together.

I loved the friendships and the relationships that came from this crazy time. It really reminded me that we can’t survive in this world alone. We need people. We need GOOD people.

Anyway, this will be a series that sticks with me for a while I think. If you like post-apocalyptic books and don’t mind reading pretty violent books, definitely check it out.
