•A perfect ending to the series, leaving just enough to your imagination. I came to care for these characters. The setting of Michigan really hit home for me…like literally. While the writing wasn’t as polished as I would like, I feel it was made up for in other areas.
•As for the narration; I’ve said it with just about all these books, I wish it had been full cast because it would’ve been so good. But it was not to be, and Stacey Glemboski did do a good job with it.

Great ending to this series.

Fantastic Series

I have just finished this full series, and loved every single second of it. I got so invested in the characters, the town, and everyone pulling together. Couldn't stop reading the book until I finished it. I hate finishing series of books I enjoy, as I'm never ready for it to end, and this one is up their with my favourites of all time.
Excited to read more from Kyla!!

I love post apocalyptic stories and this one had a good hook with the Hannah story, but overall this series was not good. I had to finish the books to find out what happened, but won't be reading more by this author.  The writing was so awful in points.  How many times can you say the exact same things?  With a real editor, these books could have been condensed to about 4 or 5.  It got so tedious to read through the exact same descriptions of characters AND military terms AND adrenaline dumps over and over again.  There were nuggets of goodness like the story of Hannah versus Pike.  I also enjoyed Quinn and Liam, but this could have been such a better reading experience if the books had been fewer in number and better edited.

A great example of taking a fantastic series and then milking the success by dragging 4-5 extra books out of it until it's just repetitive and eyeroll inducing. Every other page I'm getting the same description of "acid burning the back of Xs throat" and "nausea rolled through Xs gut". I was really sad to notice that I had started disliking the characters and plot when I loved the first few books so much.
