Say Yes to the Duke by Eloisa James

I'm learning that Eloisa Jame's books are really hit or miss for me, and in fact looking back at my reviews they're mostly misses. I don't generally like the male leads and most of her female leads are debutants which aren't my favorite perspective due to the constant playing at nativity. Think I'll move on from her books.

The thing about Eloisa James’ writing is it’s just effortless. She writes stories about people that feel so real and yet at the same time they are this fantasy that you want..

This book is about Viola, she is raised as a Wilde but has always felt that she is not a real Wilde. And then she meets the Duke, Devin, who, before he meets her, says exactly that. But then he meets her and he realizes how wrong he was. He sees her for what she is and appreciates all aspects of her.

This story is one of two people realizing that they are more than what they think they are and that they are both deserving of love.

I love how this story kind of ticks all the boxes. There’s love, humour, animals, a chaotic family, lots of spice.

I really recommend any of Eloisa James’ novels. Especially the Wilde series. They are just soooo good!

a very sweet loving story

I would sum up the whole story as ‘all about love’ . The highlight in this book is the love chemistry between Devin and Viola. There is no climax that would make you tense or any life rescue. Here’s just act of love between the two and I would say very easy resolve lover quarrel. I would recommend this book for readers who wished something light and romance. The book were pretty sensual and sexy. However, I gave 4 stars because I still missed something in the book, like some surprise and climax of the book. The story were pretty straight loving line.

This is a sweet story, well-told with appealing characters. There wasn’t a lot of plot, but I loved the characters and the dialogue. It was nice to see quiet Viola get her chance to shine, I liked Devin, and it’s always good to catch up with the other Wildes.

In the middle of this pandemic, I don’t want angst—there is enough of that in real life. I want a story that will make me smile, and this fit the bill perfectly. Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the eARC.

This has kind of a Pride and Prejudice remix vibe. The characters had chemistry — a smart, shy, outsider in her family and a haughty duke who cares a lot about duty, and the banter is fun. I've read all but one of this series and enjoyed them. Light, which is just what I needed.
