I thought this book was really enjoyable and a quick read, if a bit predictable at times. I loved Eleanor and her journey and I can't wait to see where she goes next.

Oh boy! To start off, I loved all the characters! And I saw so many things coming, and even when I knew they would come I was still jumping in my seat. There was one that caught me off guard, but not spoilers... I absolutely loved Daniel, because he's just AMAZING! I have the next book right next to me, so yay! Thanks Susan Dennard for writing an amazing book!! 10 out of 5 stars!
Normally this isn't my type of book. I like historical fiction but I've never really read any historical fiction mixed with fantasy, but I actually really like this story. I had a lot of action and adventure and was fast-paced enough to keep you interested. I will probably read the rest of the books in the series.
I really did enjoy this book. Right from the first page it had caught my attention. All of the characters were written so so well. Daniel was probably my favorite, his back story was the most complex and compelling. I really loved how everything sort of just fell together like pieces of a puzzle; everything just went hand in hand and flowed really well. I also liked how Eleanor went from sort of wimpy and helpless to kickass and ready to toss the corset aside. The Victorian setting was also really striking. Nice to see a zombie novel not set in modern times.
Entertaining enough. Fun story. Good twists and turns. Not my typical style, but glad it was recommended to me, it was nice to try something new.
I liked it. Of course, it's by Susan Dennard, so what else did I expect.

I haven't read this series so long I almost forgot the plot! It's wonderful to be back in a world I discovered in middle school - zombies in 1870s America, so much fun!
