Another fun and action-filled scifi romance by Linnea Sinclair. I liked both the hero and heroine. I admit I'm a sucker for getting to know our characters while crash landed on deserted planets together.

My first sci-fi romance :) I have to admit it wasn't as bad as I expected it to be.

Basically a well paced mix of space opera, military sf, and nicely done romance with some humor strewn in, hitting a lot of my favorite tropes in the genre(s).
Action, consistent world building, characterization... I only regret that the book was over so fast (and I would have liked seeing the grudging respect between "Uncle" Yavo and Captain Tivahr being developed a little further past the current ending).

I wish I had been more focused when I was reading this, but I was quite stressed at the time. Otherwise, I'm sure I would have torn right through it. I liked the romance, how it wasn't overdone or soap opera-esque, and how the characters were able to put it aside for the important things when necessary. The action and plot were well-done and engaging as well. I was very impressed by this, and will definitely read Linnea Sinclair again when I'm in the mood for romance.

This was fun but dragged some in sections in the middle. It was definitely sci-fi AND romance, which is a rare find, and would be a good read for fans of both genres.

We love a good sci-fi romance that isn't just full of smut. The characters and romance were fun, and the plot was pretty steady throughout. My only complaint was that the sci-fi lore got a bit dense and hard to follow at times - but this didn't really take away any of my enjoyment from the story. I'll definitely be reading more from this author.

partially, because it was just tooooooo adherent to the genre conventions, do you know what i mean? it felt like it wasn't it's own take on the conventions but just participating in them. and hard SF has never been my #1 fave. (but also, i want everything to be "with a twist"-- or so high quality it transcends the tropes)
partially, and i never articulated this to myself before, but i read almost exclusively MM and bounce off a lot of MF. i'm fat and 40 and when I read about the MMCs and how thrilled they are by petite, young FMCs, especially when it's kind of insta-lust as this one is (insta like in the first 60 seconds) i find it impossible to enjoy-- it's like someone is getting what i want instead of me because they don't have my defects. instead of them getting what i want instead of me because, like, it's fiction.

Picked it up for the Sci-Fi and was not disappointed. Good story, well written and fun to read.

The romance element may work for some, but did not for me, but I think the novel stands up well without it.
