Even though there's always dumb stuff in Ali's books, they're just so fun so it's easy to just largely ignore them and fully immerse yourself in the sillyness.

It was pretty good when they were falling for each other and getting together, but then the end was kind of bland and felt like "oh shit well the guy is a healthy partner and we don't have any conflict what can we do?"

"Let's make Pen be a bad guy like we talked about earlier"

"sure that's fine." ... "Wait nevermind" like ????? 

I was more interested in Scarlett's swimming career by the end. The end is what knocked it way down for me.
