Audio is great for this one.

Still have same gripes as previously stated in review, but both leads have grown on me and I don't care as much this time around lol.

Spice: 🌶️🌶️

I was excited to read this book - I adored the cover and I do enjoy Ali Hazelwood's writing! As well as being interested in the dynamics explored in this book, I was so curious to see her take on them. I adored Scarlett, she felt so relatable to me, and Lukas's quiet adoration paired with how stoic he was had me absolutely hooked. All the hints about how head-over-heels he was had me speeding to the next chapter, eager for Scarlett to catch on. Loved the communication and how direct Lukas was (and how she could see him so clearly! They are truly soulmates!)

I read Problematic Summer Romance twice since buying it, and some of my thoughts on that book reflect ones here. It was so cool to see kink explored but just like PSR I felt like the "taboo" of it was just sort of - teased, and not fully explored. There's more conversations and jokes about their shared ✨ interests ✨ than Lukas and Scarlett experiencing them together, and I feel like those conversations were happening too often. I would have loved to see them explore their list more - or more moments of "just them" together, without Pen hanging so heavily over them.

And Pen - she was an interesting character and the way she pushes them together was great for the drama - I just have a lot of thoughts about her role, and that also detracted from my overall enjoyment (though I do appreciate her friendship with Scarlett, excluding the rocky bits).

I did have a great time reading, and this had me looking up dives so I could visualize what was happening! I also loved all the cameos, there were so fun.
