in all honesty i felt like the MMC sucked and the FMC didn’t have no back bone whatsoever.

ALL THE STARS!
This book’s characters are so refreshing and captivating!
What an emotionally intelligent and
completely engrossing story!
Without spoilers it’s hard to review this book in a lot of words.
I love the characters! They made me feel strong emotions, both positive and negative. They are both very relatable and also at times very foreign to me. I love that!
Their actions and words are compelling and made me stop to consider AND at the same time they are so highly entertaining!
The humor, the banter is simply amazing! The laugh out loud moments are hilarious. It’s so very clever!
They second hand embarrassment I felt is real…and I felt it for Reese.
She’s young, inexperienced and out of her element. It lends to cringe-worthy moments and also beautiful, emotional moments.
Firsts! All those first experiences are wonderful and butterfly worthy.
I remembered the uncertainty and excitement of youth.
Fisher is everything young me and present me wants in a man. He’s not perfect, he is amazing though. I absolutely adore him! I LOVE him!
My emotions are all over the place, I don’t know how I want the next book to go, I’m nervous and excited!
I have so much love for these characters and their story.
At the end of this book I shed a few tears over an interaction with the two main characters, it was something that made “them” make sense in a big picture way, in a make me believe in destiny kind of way.
It was raw, beautiful and bittersweet.
With every book this author puts out I seem to have a new “favorite!”
I couldn’t love this book more!

I wasn't sure how I was going to like this one going into it.

A coming of age story where Reese battles internally with what she's been brought up to believe/think in her religion and what feels right to her heart. I honestly had moments where my heart would ache for her because she was so conflicted.

Fisher is charming but also cocky and blunt, he calls it as he sees it. I had several moments where I questioned whether he would help a situation or just make it messy.

An angsty, emotional read that took me by surprise. I would have tossed my kindle out the window if I didn't know that book 2 was already waiting on it. The way the ending left you without a resolution. I was fire mad.

I did not know this was not a complete story and not an HEA. I think I need to read the second one before really formulating my thoughts. But it's a good thing that
these two did not end up together at the end of this one, because all I kept thinking was "there's no way this is going to work out for these two long term"
The FMC is not particularly likable, but it's because she's very sheltered, very young, and very religious. She's kind of supposed to be that way. So I'll be interested to see what she's like in the next one, five years later.

Loved this story! I love the ending! It’s happy but not where you expect it to go!

"I know they say love is patient, but it’s not. Love is the brightest star in the sky. It doesn’t have an off switch or a timer. It doesn’t wear a watch or look at a calendar. It’s why we’re here. It’s the only true reason for our existence.”

Emotionally gripping, funny, and absolutely FANTASTIC!! You've done it again Jewel! Absolutely AMAZING!

Jewel E. Ann is a beautiful writer but this main character was too much for me. The main character being so naive and innocent really made the age gap with the male main character give me the ick.
