Listen, I really liked reading this book. But the author did the classic "she must give up her powers" trope because of course. It's slightly "fixed" at the very end by Wrath sharing his but c'mon.

The thing about making your MC a god is that they become invincible and the suspense kind of flutters off. Sure, there's the blade of ruination, but it also ends up being pretty tame. The ending of the book kind of sputters out until all the loose ends are tied up and we get our HEA. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, but I expected a book about the literal devil and his queen to have more umph. I would've liked to see Sursea's death, for one. The vampires just run off with their tails between their legs.

There were some good moments in between the 50 sex scenes. I'm just glad to have it finished.

Compared to the other books from this series this one is by far the worst. The entire plot of the story was focused around this one plot that had no correlation with anything that the first two books were building up on. There’s no emotional stakes in place with the characters and it felt that all the character development that happened didn’t even exist. Along with that there were to many sex scenes that had nothing to do with the plot of the story. When it came to the main characters sister she provided little to nothing to the plot other than “oh look I’m not dead” and the two should have had more time to properly discuss what happened between them.

The banter is top notch. I love this world and these characters and am sad it's over. The last 1/4 of the book had me too stressed/frustrated to the point where I wasn't really enjoying it, that's why I couldn't do 5⭐
