A gorgeous, moving story about love, grief, diaspora and making family. I found the musings on stepchild-stepparent relationships particularly resonant and it prompted me to organise having glass of wine with my stepmother next week to celebrate our relationship. Also learned a bit more about India.

It is a sad book. But it makes you want to finish the book in one sitting. That is the power of the writing.
