“…sometimes the only way to get something good is to take a few risks.”
Party of Two is a story about risks and rewards (and also a great multiracial, opposites attract, he-falls-first-instalove, third act breakup, HEA romance)!
I loved Olivia so much, and as a fellow woman in the legal industry, really related to her cautious, well planned, prepared-and-polished personality. Her realities and challenges as a Black female lawyer, and in the public eye, were illustrated well, and I felt the challenges of being in a multiracial relationship (different backgrounds; financial privilege; racism in personal, professional and criminal justice settings; white privilege) were presented thoughtfully and with care.
There is some spice in this one! I give it 3.5/5 for some open door scenes.
Ultimately, this is a story of choosing love: despite the challenges, despite being very different people, despite having to work at it, despite the risks!

I don't know how Jasmine Guillory does it, but I somehow love each new book more than the last.
