I loved this book so much. It oozed dark, eerie vibes tremendously well and took you on a roller coaster of living inside Mrs March’s head. She’s an utterly delusional being, possibly somewhat depressed and portraying signs of childhood neglect.

I Imagine her character who would be diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia. Her thinking is completely irrational and she is very disengaged and disconnected to all life. Her character is definitely lonely and a lot of the time living in a silence that is actually incredibly loud. She’s quite the bitter bitch and expresses consistent vindictive thoughts towards others.

Mrs March believes herself to be a well to do, docile adult and is far from it. She is pretentiously grandiose, dark and mysterious and such a phenomenally interesting character to read about. She is completely deluded and resonates in intense emotional discomfort that she is not capable of computing. There’s no point trying to rationalise her behaviour as it’s totally irrational and the book takes you on a bizarre journey through her world.

I give this book 4.25 stars.

I’ve never read a more misogynistic book. This female author makes sure to confirm everything society already hates about women. Disgusting.

Mrs March is a very interesting character who cares more about the decadence of her table settings than she does about her own child. Throughout this book, we see Mrs March's stoicism disintegrate as she slowly descends into a paranoia-induced madness brought on by a rumour that her husband's latest detestable protagonist is based on her.

I enjoyed the black comedy feel of this story and cringing at Mrs March's increasingly infuriating behaviour, but something felt like it was missing for me to make it really stand out. I think if you're a fan of slightly plotless, unhinged feminine rage stories then you might enjoy this.

Well written. Really immersive. Just not sure I ever enjoyed the reading. Which could be the point.

I thought that this was middling. While there are a handful of effective moments/images, mostly I found this to be a collection of "crazy rich middle aged woman" cliches.  There's a lack of coherence---often from the way the author deliberately withholds information---and I found this more frustrating than enjoyable.
