As much as I'm glad to have Lestat back, I can't help feeling bummed out by this book. "Merrick" had concluded with a promising war between Lestat, David, and Merrick against the Talamasca. In "Blackwood Farm", this conflict was hinted again, but in this book there is no mention to it.
The only thing that made the book bearable were Lestat's introspection and his story with Rowan Mayfair (although it was disappointingly undeveloped).
Anyway, at this point, I want to finish this series out of spite. Only three more books to go!!

I'm not sure why everyone is hating this book. I am absolutely love it. I love how Lestat is so sarcastic and funny.

Page 200-201 I love the song that was written by Patsy that Tommy plays. It is so very forlorn. You can most definitely feel it.

This was a fun reread! This book is the sequel to Blackwood Farm and also gives references to the Mayfair Witch Chronicles. It’s told entirely in Lestat’s POV which makes the story seem like a comedy even though it isn’t. Lestat’s perspective on things, is hilarious! He’s never serious and often gets distracted from his own narrative. So there’s a lot of ramblings about random things that don’t pertain to the original story. Also, the 1st chapter has nothing to do with the this book at all. Feel free to skip it. It’s just Anne complaining through Lestat about how no one liked her novel, ‘Memnock the Devil’.

No es el mejor de la serie, pero tampoco el peor. Es un final a medias, que nos deja varias dudas y que une dos grandes sagas de esta gran escritora.

I didn't get all up in arms about this book because I read the last three books in the Chronicles long after the brouhaha had died down, but I still have to nominate Mona Mayfair for most annoying book character of the past century. I didn't think this book was the worst thing ever written by Rice (see: Violin) but neither was it as good as the two that came right before it.

I'll be honest, this was boring. I fell asleep several times and didn't bother to rewind it to where I remembered listening to. There was literally nothing going on in the story that was at all interesting. Mona became whiny and I couldn't stand her anymore. Quinn wasn't interesting at all like he was in the last one. Lestat was quite boring, and I didn't ever think I could say that of him!
