You try to educate yourself about systemic racism, you've read book after book about what it is like to be a Black person living in the United States; but then you read this this compendium of microaggressions heaped onto this one nuclear family and you realize that as much knowledge as you have gained, as much empathy you think you have, you will never fully understand what it is like to be Black in this country.

Lacey Lamar and Amber Ruffin are so good at telling stories. Even when the stories are negative or have bad parts, they know how to tell it in an engaging way. I hope they keep writing together

It is a really good book but repetitive and didn't hold my attention long enough to finish it.

I listened to it TWICE in a row. Uh weirdly enjoyable, sadly relatable.
