Oh that Poirot is such a sneaky little devil. He had many people fooled in this one, including myself and Hastings. I think this is one of my favorite Poirots so far!

Both too fast and too slow at the same time, and both bizarre and predictable. Not Agatha’s best work by far… you can skip over this one

Oof in the wake of Roger ackyord this one was a let down. I like Christie for the specific location cast of characters and discovering who did it. This was this weird espionage evil organization bond/mission impossible vibe. With mini mysteries inside where you always knew who would have done it. The end resolution also just fell super flat and a bit silly.

This book definitely put my at the edge of my seat! I really didn't know what to expect by the end. Poirot is a well written character that Christie has pushed to the limits in this book. Hastings really gave us the perspective of the uncertainty of what might or could happen through this book. I loved the whole book even the slower parts.

“Small men always admire big, flamboyant women”

I would give it 4.5 stars really. Fantastically written and another fun story telling the tales of magnificent Poirot and simple Hastings. It is a bit far fetched in comparison to the usual Poirot stories. I just prefer the smaller stories that hold less of a world-ending-impact. Still a great one by Christie nevertheless.
