Probably my least favorite of the Poirot novels. It was to confusing and "broken" feeling to me.

More like a spy thriller than a detective story. Very action packed, a lotbof disguises and scheming, even including a evil scientists creating evil weapons and a secret crime organisation with a head quarter in a secret mountain base, plotting world domination. Not my cup of tea and I personaly could have done without the (period typical) xenophobia, but I'm sure there are a lot of people how will have a great time with this book.

Her political stories are never very good.

This one was also racist against the Chinese - a new one for her in my experience.

One of Christie's espionage novels, this one featured Poirot and Hastings along with a large cast of characters and plot events that often didn't connect to each other or make much sense.

*2023 reading goal: reading the hercule poirot series by agatha christie*

this is my least favorite book in the series thus far. even taking it as contextual to the time, i had a hard time getting through it and found the plot meh, racist, and derivative.

Excellent audiobook, loved the different voices from the narrator. A bit out there in comparison to the other Poirot books, but still lots of clever twists and turns.
