This was not my favorite my Agatha Christie. I prefer her more traditional mysteries and this one didn't really feel like a Poirot book.

I started reading this book a few months ago and put it down but finally finished it. the long pause I took made it hard to really remember the plot, especially since this story is constructed mostly of tiny little “episodes” in service of the grander story, but overall this one was odd. I didn’t love it for most of the story but the end was satisfying and relatively well paced. It is much more action packed than other Poirot books, and I actually think this would be perfect as the next Knives Out movie - this reminded me so much of it and that movie was mentioned in the afterword! Christie’s books almost always have some xenophobia and this one more than most - it definitely puts a sour taste while reading and it’s hard to defend. Poirot and Hastings felt like caricatures esp towards the end. The end of this really makes it worth it and I don’t think it’s her worst- probably would benefit by being shorter or just with Daniel Craig in substitute of Poirot (fits better imo).

So actually kind of crazy and a little confusing at first - I wasn't necessarily into it until maybe a third of the way in I understand what was happening and then I got into it - the overarching story is what's riveting, not so much the individual stories. The climax definitely had me on the edge of my seat. I wouldn't recommend if someone hasn't read other Hercule Poirot Books - overall enjoyed tho
