I don’t know if it’s that it took me so long to finish or that this one felt way too convoluted, but it wasn’t my favorite.

Agatha Christie is brilliant, as always. Although this was not one of her best (my opinion), it was very intriguing and I couldn't put it down. The Big Four are diabolical masterminds who could, potentially, take over the world, but they hadn't bargained on Hercule Poirot's genius. The Big Four put Poirot to the test, and page after page I had to know who had won the next round - it was Big Four vs. Poirot all the way, and I don't want to give the book away by letting you know who won. :) All in all, amazing book. Great read.

Um…. Definitely one of her weirder murder mysteries! This Hercule Poirot story - or collection of stories? - is eclectic and far-reaching. It’s very different to the classic Christie locked room mysteries, which seem to be her forte, and this one instead spreads across the globe with underground mafia groups, henchmen on every corner, and bodies strewn all over the place. Really hard to follow and a very dissatisfying denouement - maybe it was something she just had to try her hand at, in order to realise where her writing strengths really did lie.
This might not make sense but this plot just felt too big for the character of Poirot. It felt like a police detective in a spy novel and just didn't feel very coherent.

Easily, with a bit to spare, the worst Poirot. And the worst Christie.
