I'm a sucker for a Hades/Persephone storyline and boy did this one deliver. I already loved the universe created in Seraphim Academy, and this retelling gives me all the feels. I can't wait to see what journey Elizabeth Briggs will bring us on with Hades and Persephone <3

Can’t believe I let this be my one hundredth book of the year. It’s a shame this is so poorly written because the plot itself wasn’t that bad as a concept but the sex and the plot and the dialogue was horribly written and cringe.

I liked the concept, but it was a little bit boring and ended on a cliffhanger.

I spent the whole time I was reading this thinking I'd read it before, but I've never listed it anywhere so I'm assuming I haven't, however it is *super* similar to a book I have read before. Whoch is very confusing because i thought stuff would happen and it didn't.

Overall I was unimpressed with the ending... One thing that bothers me immensely is that Lucifer didn't tell Hannah what he was doing... I don't know entirely what it was but it wasn't good clearly.

I don't know what it is that put me off the book but overall I'm underwhelmed and I'm not sure I'll continue... At least not right now

Okay. I am struggling with this book for.. I don't know. Maybe two months to finish it. Got to page 168 and finally close it. I can't. It's so boring for me

If Laura Thalassa, Jennifer L. Armentrout and Sarah J. Maas came together and made book, this would be it. I’ll admit, it’s scary how close the similarities are, if you’ve read all three authors then you’ll know the tidbits. I’ll admit, it was a bit fast paced, i would’ve liked a slow build but on and all it was tastefully written. I think what also intrigued me was that it has mythology mixed with the supernatural with a sprinkle of the paranormal. The smut was deliciously written, the romance was surprisingly sweet, the supernatural world sucked me in right away, i thoroughly enjoyed this first book, sadly, i have to wait a month for the second one..

My Rating: ❤️❤️❤️❤️.5

General Thoughts: Have I mentioned I'm obsessed with retellings of Hades & Persephone? Oh, only once or twice. Yes, that's sarcasm. I LOVE and am OBSESSED with retellings of H&P, especially when done like Briggs did here. I adored Briggs' "more than" series, but I didn't love her Zodiac wolves once as much, but I'm so so glad I gave her more chances because I loved this book and this series. I binge-read this series in a day and 2/3 of her related Serpahim series in the same day.

I loved Lucas Ifer and his character. And dang! Stuff morally grey boyfriends are made of. I also liked Hannah.

If you are a PNR fan, check this one. It's a good series.

Quote: “Are you going to steal my soul? Should I be afraid?” “Oh, Hannah. Your soul already belongs to me.”

Steam Meter: ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥 Pretty steamy and hot.

Romantic Tropes
-interconnected spin-off series
-trilogy (with a related fourth book)
-fated mates/soul mates across time
-morally grey MMC
-Hades and Persephone retelling

The Demon King needs his Queen

Who is she? Is she Hannah, the florist who lost her memory in an automobile accident that claimed her parents? Is she an Angel, Eve...the wife of Adam, Persephone the Queen of the Underworld, or is she Lenore -artist wrote of her long ago and she was fiery in battle. Maybe she's everyone of these reincarnations, forced to die by the hands of her husband while settling in with her true mate: Lucifer the Fallen. Who is her husband, and why does it seem everyone wants to kill Hannah when she makes a deal with the King of Vegas, Lucas Ifer, The Demon King, The Devil...LUCIFER her fated mate.
