PERFECTION!!! Thank you NetGalley and Blackstone Publishing for granting me access to this book in exchange for an honest review.

OH MY CHRISTMAS STARS🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟!!! WHAT AN EMOTIONAL, MEANINGFUL, POWERFUL, COMPLICATED, HEARTWARMING, WHOLESOME, IMMERSIVE, HUMOROUS, ADORABLE AND BEAUTIFULLY WRITTEN HOLIDAY ROM-COM THAT WILL TUG AT YOUR HEARTSTRINGS!! I FOUND MYSELF SWOONING, CRYING OR LAUGHING CONSTANTLY!! THE AUTHOR HAS CREATED SUCH A TOUCHING SECOND CHANCE ROMANCE WITH SO MUCH DEPTH AND CHARACTERS WITH REAL LIFE STRUGGLES AND RAW EMOTIONS. I ABSOLUTELY LOVED AND ADORED IT SO MUCH!! HANDS DOWN ONE OF MY FAVORITE CHRISTMAS BOOKS EVER🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️!!!

Katherine, an aspiring NYC attorney, hopes to become a partner at the firm she has been at for ten years. Two days before Christmas, Katherine is in an accident which leads to the hospital notifying her emergency contact. Regrettably, she forgot to update that information on her paperwork. When her ex-husband, Tom, shows up at the hospital he is informed that she cannot be left alone due to her concussion and medical treatment needed. Tom needs to go home to his family in Chicago for the holidays and reluctantly agrees to take Katherine with him. Because of a blizzard they find themselves on an adventure of a lifetime!

Everything seemed to go wrong almost like fate was intervening. As the story unraveled, I found myself extremely invested in Katherine and Tom's adventures from planes, trains, cabs, Uber and a big rig truck! The more time they spent together the old feeling resurfaced and the "spark' was evident. All the angst, tension, banter and chemistry was top notch. Not to mention, the grand gesture was just perfect!! This is a clean romance (only kissing) and I did not miss the spice🤭.

Overall, I was incredibly hooked from start to finish! I cannot encourage you enough to add this one to your Christmas TBR!!! It deserves a million stars!!!! 🩵🩵🩵🩵🩵☃️☃️☃️☃️☃️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️

4.75⭐️ thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to receive this arc in return for an honest review!

oh this was SO GOOD!!! this was my first book by Lauren Layne and knowing her and her husband wrote it together gave me all the giddy feels. this was a perfect rom-com, but also had such fleshed out characters that felt so real and relatable in such a short page count. i empathized so much with katherine and her struggles. she was so layered and even though she came across as grumpy and unfeeling, she truly had such a loyal, sweet heart. tom was an organized, sarcastic cutie and i loved the way he could take everything katherine dished and dish it right back! their banter was adorable and so fulfilling to read.

i loved their chaotic journey. each road block brought them closer and closer together :) i enjoyed seeing the two of them fall back in to love. they really never stopped, but seeing them realize how much they miss each other and that they really are the loves of their lives was beautiful. they’re perfect for each other! this got me in to the christmas spirit as well with the holiday vibes.

i thoroughly enjoyed this!!!

A husband and wife writing duo write about second chance romance between divorcées . How fun.
Emergency Contact definitely has a healthy dose of angst and raw emotion because it centers on a second chance romance , there’s also a nice balance of fun and flirty moments as Katherine and Tom are forced spend time together.

Filled with smart dialogue, interesting characters, and a very relatable and second chance romance, this book has a little something for every romance fan.

This story is a heartwarming second-chance romance with depth and relatable characters. Emergency Contact by Lauren Layne and Anthony Ledonne is a delightful romantic treat that I devoured in one sitting.

Meet Katherine Tate. An ambitious NYC attorney who finds herself in an unexpected situation. Diagnosed with a concussion, she must be monitored for 48 hours to ensure her condition doesn't worsen. The catch? She forgot to update her emergency contact information, and the person they call is her ex-husband.

She reluctantly agrees to travel with Tom for the holidays but thanks to a blizzard, what should have been a quick plane ride turns into an antagonistic overnight misadventure.

I adored the setting of this story. The snowy backdrop of Chicago during the holidays really added charm and a layer of cozy. I found Layne and Ledonne crafted terrific characters in Katherine and Tom. They’re everything you want: flawed, genuine, and their chemistry leaps off the pages.

From laughter to tears, this rom-com delivers all of the emotions. Whether you're looking for writing that shines, laughter, love, or a touch of holiday magic at any time of year, this book delivers.

Thank you to NetGalley and Blackstone Publishing for a temporary e-ARC in exchange for my honest review.

This was cute. I didn't love how Catherine made everything so about herself and did not seem at all phased by how her agenda affected Tom. I do understand the strong female character, but this was a hair too far. I also felt like Lola got the short end of the stick.
