This was an excellent YA fantasy. My only issues with it was the info dumping at times.

While its exposition is a bit heavy-handed, and the world and its inhabitants are slightly one dimensional, this novel's execution is solid.

The prose is easy to read, and descriptive, though Preto will oftentimes delve into flashbacks and side details/tangents in the midst of conversations, or what should be fast-paced action scenes; while enlightening, this does slightly disrupt the pace of said sequences.

Outside of the fact that it took me 2 months to get through this book(was not in an audiobook mood), I really enjoyed this!!!! I can’t wait to read the next books, hopefully at a slight faster pace though!

This book was actually better than I expected. Like it was slow at the start and we were learning about the characters but near the middle and end omg I was obsessed.

Kade and Sev?? Holy shit omg I wanted a kiss from them and I’m so mad we didn’t get it and I really hope Kade is alive in the next book BECAUSE HES SO HOT OMG.

And Tristan and Veronyka’s friendship was so good like I loved reading Tristan’s pov and I hope they progress into a relationship because they’re so fricken cute.

At the start I was kind of bored of Sev like I was more interested in Nyka and Tristan but then I wanted Sev’s pov near the middle and also because I wanted to see Kade of course but I was so surprised about their grandma like how did I not put it together that she was someone important in THAT way like she had been alive.

ALSO VAL?? OMG IT MAKES SO MUCH SENSE LIKE SHES AVALKYRIE REBORN LIKE THATS SO CRAZY. I don’t agree with the way she went about things but I understand her love for her sister and Nyka too and the fact that Pheronia is Nyka’s mother like I need to know more because how is this possible??

stopped reading the book before pages 100. I felt as if the story was slow and just long. I kept wondering how I thought so much tjme had passed and every time I looked to see how many pages I’ve read I was surprised to have only read 7 pages more than the time I previously checked.
