This was a fun, cute story, but not really the kind of book you’ll remember a couple months later.

A cute romance about a hardworking business woman in need of a vacation and a bed and breakfast owner who is a widower and father to a five year old daughter. Set on an island off the coast of North Carolina, this was a sweet story. I loved Paige's optimistic attitude and how she got Lucas to re-open his heart and start living again after closing the world out for the two years since his wife died. The sweet and caring way she was with his daughter, Maddie, was also adorable. The ending was what pushed this to 4 stars for me. It was a great ending for the rest of the story.

"Seems to me you don't need all of your stuff perfectly organized. What you need is one special person to share the mess of life with."

Charming, heartfelt and heartwarming read by a new to me author.

Happy Singles Day takes Paige on a spur of the moment vacation that turns out to be far from what she expected. Trapped on an island off the coast of North Carolina by a storm in a derelict and messy bed and breakfast with a surly yet handsome owner, Lucas, is an absolute nightmare to a professional organizer. But a daring puppy rescue in the middle of the storm sparks a change between them.

While HSD kindles anticipation it doesn't ignite in a clean Hallmark/Netflix-esque romance that delivers love, laughter, emotional healing, a charming cast of characters, and of course a happily ever after.

Happy Singles Day was all kinds of cute. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if this book turned into a movie just because of how cute the romance actually was. I also had no idea that this is an actual day that people can celebrate? Lol.

In it, you will meet Paige and Lucas. Both have their hearts broken and don't really know how to deal with it. Paige lives in Chicago and is basically married to her job. Which isn't a bad thing but the girl needed a break. A girlcation if you please. So she decides to go to an inn for Valentine's Day.

Well, whelp. The inn isn't exactly how she pictured because the place needs a lot of TLC. At this point, if you haven't already guessed it yet, Lucas walks into the picture and isn't thrilled with her intrusion. For many reasons too because the place isn't even open (anymore). Now this guy also needs a huge break because he real deep in financial problems while trying to take care of his daughter Maddie.

So, in other words, these two needed help and a break. A huge and nice relaxing break.

Unfortunately, these two are stuck together due to bad weather. Which is a good thing for me because I could smell the tension coming off of them a mile away. They were really cute when they bantered but I was just waiting for things to move to the next level for them all. Plus Maddie was adorable throughout the entire book too.

The one thing I wanted more of .. the romance. The smutty kind because I got the heat but no sizzle. I look forward to the romance when it comes to these rom com kind of books. So I was a little disappointed when I just got teasers.

This book was super cute! I loved it!! Made me laugh out loud soo many times! One thing I wasn’t expecting tho was that it was a closed door romance.
