Not as good as Ali's Pretty Little Lies. Also, I started watching the show, so none of this was exactly a surprise. I'm not sure if I'll continue with the series because I hear it quickly goes off the deep end (like the show). It was okay, but like I said, I saw all of it coming because of the show. Note to self, read book first.

This book was very nostalgic. Something about the name brand drops and the need to be trendy is so corny in like the best way possible.
The storylines are easy to follow but also entertaining. I enjoyed very much comparing it to the show and I can safely say that the book is better!!

This book was great, but I expected the book to start off with Allison's mysterious disappearance. I wanted to read more from Aria and Spencer's POV because I really prefer their stories more than Hanna's and Emily's but still enjoyed every POV. Interesting to read a story from four different girls with very different personalities.
Alison seemed like a grade A b****, and I don't know why any of the girls decided to be friends with her. They also idolized her like a queen or something.
Anyway, the book had good character development especially since there were four characters. I'm excited to see what's left in store for the girls.
Rating: 5.3/10

I started watching the series on TV before I read the book(s). It really helped me to know what was going on since some parts were confusing. I love that it has mystery and suspense but doesn't go over the top with it. I can't wait to read the rest of the series.
Audiobook narrator is audibly underage and can’t really suspend my disbelief with the crazy things that happen vs when it’s a mid 20 year old playing them on TV.

I'm currently rewatching the show, and have decided to read the series for the first time! a lot of random changes from book to show, as expected, but not a lot happens in this first book! feels like just exposition mainly.
I also was taken back by the random inserts of current pop culture/devices/platforms. I don't know why they decided to re-edit to modernize the story, it would've been better to leave well enough alone and we could've been transported back to the early 2000s. I don't want to talk about tiktok?
