This is basically the Epilogue of the third book as the book ended with just an idea of Laurent's and Damen's future together and here we get to see what actually happens after.

Absolutely adored some Damen and Laurent fluff. Well needed after finishing the trilogy

How could I not give the most perfect epilogue of epilogues five stars? It’s honestly not enough stars.

It’s no secret I adore the Captive Prince trilogy. Discovering that this short story existed has honestly made my day. This is everything that I wanted - hints of the days immediately following King’a Rising, allusions of what is to come in the future.

I loved it.

Back when I read the last book in the Captive Prince series, I was missing something like this epilogue. I think if I had read this right after the book, I would have given it five stars because it was exactly what I needed from the series at the time.

But releasing it so much later just makes it lose its impact, at least for me. As cute as this story was, I just couldn't get as excited about it was I wanted to be. It's not a strong enough story to stand on its own, because it doesn't really have a plot and is basically just Damen and Laurent being cute together. That's fine, but it doesn't feel big enough to be released separately like this. It just makes it feel sort of unnecessary and like an afterthought. Especially because it hardly reveals anything new about their future together.

A beautiful epilogue at the Summer Palace. With the author saying that this was something of an epilogue, I believe it went perfectly with how the main series ended.
