So sweet, and very very spelled out, beginner level up to advanced beginner feminism. the author did not trust the reader but tbh looking at voting behaviors in this country, the author has absolutely no reason to trust readers. i enjoyed it

and I'm so, so glad for the happy ending bc if i was the protagonist i would have made it a bloodbath tragedy. i know the guillotine didn't fix anything but it felt so good at first

Great little book to get back into reading. Very easy to read and has a little bit of everything for a tame fantasy romance novel.

The heroine was just too much of a standard, YA, "It's-not-fair" cliche for me. The love story and magic systems weren't particularly compelling either, so nothing really for me to want to continue. I am allowing myself to give this one up.
