This was everything I wanted for Caleb and more. oh my gosh the tears I was crying at 1:30 in the morning over the things good and heartbreaking. This was a stroy so real and mature. I am so excited for my paperback trophy to arrive so I can flip through the pages again and again.
Caleb Thorne is a fixer. If someone needs something, he’s the first one there even if his help is not wanted. That’s just the way he is. And we know that because of his affiliation with Salem. He adopted her first daughter with Thayer and bought the house next door to be close to her. So when Halle and her brothers Casen and Quinn move in next door, he’s right there helping them move into their house and has rounded up help from the neighbors. When the pipes burst in her house and they can’t stay there, Caleb moves them into his house and gives Halle a job as his assistant.
Halle is used to depending on herself and now she’s responsible for her 14-year-old twin brothers. She attracted to Caleb and vice versa but she doesn’t have time for a relationship. That means depending on someone else and she can’t do that when all her life she’s been let down. But little by little Halle sees that Caleb is someone she can trust.
I loved revisiting Hawthorne Mills. Caleb truly needed his own HEA. His savior complex was a little daunting, but his motives were altruistic. Through Caleb, Halle was able to see the beauty of community and found family, that it’s okay to lean on someone sometimes, that accepting help doesn’t mean defeat. I loved the twins’ relationship with Thelma and Cynthia, like grandmas they didn’t know they needed.
I received an advance copy of this book at my request and voluntarily left this review

I really enjoyed this book! I loved The Confidence of Wildflowers Duet so of course, reading this book was a no brainer! I will say that it’s been a hot minute since I read Wildflowers so I kind of forgot who some of the characters were. But Micalea does a great job getting you up to speed!
In the book we find ourselves back in Hawthorne Mills. Caleb works as a family lawyer but deep down he is single and lonely. He wants to settle down and have a family.
Halle moves in next door with her teenage twin brothers. She’s had a hard life, growing up quicker than she’d like, having to raise herself and her brothers. She moves to Hawthorne Mills, wanting to start fresh. She meets Caleb and the rest of his family (Salem, Thayer, Laith, Seda), the day she moves in.
Caleb is a bit of a “fixer;” he loves helping people and he takes it upon himself to help Halle and her brothers out. They end up spending a lot of time together and the last thing Halle expected was to fall for someone, no less, her next door neighbor Caleb.
Caleb is so swoony and sexy! With his help, she learns to let go and to accept help and not be so selfless all the time. They are so cute together and I love how patient and caring Caleb is with Halle.
I adored the small town vibe where all of the neighbors knew each other. They’re almost like a close-knit family and it was so lovely to see the sense of community.
Overall, this was a great read. The story was great and of course the spice was nice. There’s nothing sexier than a seemingly “normal” guy that can get a bit alpha and talks dirty in the bedroom! 4⭐️
Thank you so much, Micalea, for providing me with an eARC in exchange for my honest review!💕
I enjoyed this one. Not as much as the other books thought. Halle is her brother’s care taker and Caleb is her neighbor who happens to instantly fall in love. I’m not a super fan of instant love trope. I felt like Caleb tried to hard. But the ending revived the book for me. Overall I really enjoyed it.

I loved this one. We got to go back to some of my favorite characters. Caleb is a fixer, and all he wants is for those closest to him to be happy. I loved the twins, and their relationship to the older couple near them. Halle stepped up to become the twins guardian when their mother went to jail. This was a story with so many different characters, and they melded so well to form a family. I loved it, and the shocker toward the end… I did not expect that. Caleb & Halle were hot, and the angst… was off the charts.
This was everything we could have ever hoped for! 🥰
As a Micalea fan I always hoped we would get a chance to come back to Hawthorne Mills. I wanted nothing more than for Caleb to get his HEA. Well Micalea gave us that and so much more.
Caleb was happy in his life, was it perfect, absolutely not, but he had settled in and was happy. And with one random soccer ball to the head he realized just what was missing in his life.
Halle and her brothers move to Hawthorne Mills for a fresh start, but nothing prepared her for what the universe had in store for her.
So here’s the important question:
1. Do you need to read the Wildflower duet before this one? Absolutely not, this book stands on its own, and there is enough backstory included so you know the gist.
That being said, you don’t need to read them, but they are phenomenal in their own right and are really too good to miss. Micalea writes emotionally charged stories that I can’t put down. So trust me when I say you are not going to want to miss this one!

I loved that we got Calebs story. I think the way he got a whole family, especially when his family was so crappy. It really made it feel like his story came full circle. I could feel the connection between the MMC and FMC. I also love the way he treated her brothers. There was also a bit of suspenseful drama and it really just made the book that much more engaging. The writing was just perfect.
Ahhh this series kind of GUTTED me but this was the perfect ending for Caleb 🥰🥰🥰 he deserves it all!
From the outside, Caleb has it all: a daughter, a loving “found family” (please read the first two books if you haven’t!) and a great career as a family lawyer. But he doesn’t have a partner.. a true love that transcends all else. Until Halle moves in next door with her two teenage brothers of who she is the guardian. Caleb, the ultimate “helper”, is immediately transfixed and determined to make her his 🤩
I absolutely love Micaela’s writing. I found her through the bad boys series and this series definitely did not disappoint! Can we get Laith next?!!
