I really liked this book, it made me cry quite a bit towards the end (I related personally to some of what happened) I really liked Hugo and his family it’s only missing a star because of Mae. I think she could be a bit more flushed out. Other than that I loved it! Makes my desire to take a cross country trip on a train even more prominent.

This might seem hypocritical, because I’m so happy this isn’t an epically long YA novel, but I felt like there needed to be more. More of the interviews, more long convos between Hugo and Mae, more train stuff.

In the end, it was cute and a little emotional, but not as satisfying as I wished it had been.

Yes, it is cheesy, and yes, it is insta-love, but sometimes you just need to read ridiculous fluff that will never actually happen in real life. I finished it in one sitting. It is the end of the march, and it is currently snowing. I have a morning class I have to get to to talk about gene editing. I am nowhere close to where I thought I would be at 18. Life is hard, and life is good. I should book a train ticket to somewhere I've never been. And you should read this book as I do that.
