I normally really enjoy L.V. Lane’s books, especially this centaur series, and while I liked this one, there were a lot of things I didn’t like about it. The last two centaur books followed a pattern: girl somehow becomes indebted to a centaur, he asks for a month of her time in exchange for his favour, during that time sexiness ensues, they fall in love, they live HEA. The books were predictable, but awesome nonetheless.

This book though was very different. For starters, 19% into the book, all of a sudden it jumps to “one year later”. It’s really bizarre because during that time Grimm and Rebecca apparently have had almost no contact with each other. Also, what I really HATED was that during that time Grimm was sticking his

Oh, were to begin!?! Let me start by saying that I could not put this book down, I absolutely devoured it!! The Centaur In My Dreams had it all, fantastic world building, complex characters, developed plot, and SO much absolutely delicious centaur smut. I truly loved Rebecca and Grimm's story and was pulled into their world immediately. Such a great take on Alpha \ Omega designations with centaurs mixed in, just absolutely fantastic book!

I don’t know what it is but there is something in Lane’s centaur books within her Coveted Prey series that I have just really enjoyed. The Centaur in My Dreams is the third of her centaur books in this series and it is the darkest of the three.

I enjoyed getting to return to the fallen centaurs and getting to see more of the inner workings of their world. As well as getting to know some of the characters that we only saw briefly in the previous books. I loved Rebecca and her arc through out the story. While I did like Grimm and getting to understand his character more there were a couple more things that I wished could have happened with his arc.

I need to start out by saying that this book is definitely a dark romance. The MMC is a deeply flawed and morally DARK gray hero. Usually I’m a cinnamon and alpha-roll fan, but every now and then I don’t mind a bit of darkness.😈 Don’t you worry though, our MMC has quite the character journey.

Reasons to read:
🌲An omega princess FMC that is forced through a portal and has to survive among centaurs
🌲VERY morally dark gray centaur leader MMC
🌲Portal magic
🌲Dark romance
🌲A whole lotta 💦💦💦
🌲Dub con vibes and breeding kink
🌲Mates
🌲Conflict between magical creatures
🌲A very 🌶🌶🌶 relationship between the centaurs and human women (saddle kink?)
