Sophia, the badass tattoo artist and proud owner of Rose & Lace Ink Emporium, never thought she'd break her golden rule: never date a client. But when the rock gods known as Kings of Jupiter walk into her studio, rules are meant to be shattered, right? Joining them on tour turns out to be one wild ride, especially as she uncovers the layers of each band member's personality. Mazen Wilde particularly catches her eye, especially with their shared past that Sophia can't quite remember - talk about spicy drama!
Now, let's talk about the steamy stuff. I was expecting fireworks, but the s3x scenes felt like they built up to a climax and then abruptly ended, leaving me wanting more of the nitty-gritty details.
Okay, can we talk about the communication skills here? These characters seriously need a crash course. Mazen acts like a petulant child when Sophia forgets their past encounter, resorting to immature taunts and sl*t-shaming. And don't get me started on Oliver and Cannon - they want each other and Sophia but can't seem to spit it out!
Secrets? Oh, there are secrets aplenty, especially with Sophia. Her web of lies puts everyone at risk, and when her past comes back to haunt her, it's a full-blown cliffhanger disaster.
But despite the drama, this rockstar romance delivers the goods: instant attraction, slow-burning tension, and enough secrets to keep you hooked. And that cliffhanger? Let's just say I'm already counting down the days for the next book!

This was a fun book and I was hooked into the story. Were there a few times I threw my Kindle across the bed? Yes. Was it justified, we will see in the next book ?!?!?!?!

Overall, if you enjoy bully romances then this is for you. Add in a hot rock group and you are on your way to a great time.

Sophia is a brilliant FMC to read. She's strong, funny, beautiful inside and out, edgy as a tattoo artist and studio co owner and taking a chance on herself by touring with a rock band. The three men of the band that have sucked her into their orbit are all beautifully conflicted, tortured poets, who find something in her thaf they need. There are a few tropes to love here, second chance love, ememies to lovers, best friend and boyfriend in one, the strong silent type, the dark brooding one. Its all delicious and the wee breadcrumbs are so much fun to try and figure out before they happen. I loved this book and cant wait for the second part of the duet. Definitely in my rock band era!

Smuttastic

Hell hath no fury like a woman who couldn’t come before noon.

Thoughts: 💡
It’s been a hot minute since I read a book filled with this much smut and dirty talk. It starts with a tirade on the trials of a dead vibrator and just never really stops. There is a fun little plot with lots of sassy banter packed around the smut, but the smutty focus never fully leaves in the story. It’s always either on a character's mind, in the dialogue, or full on action. So if you need an interesting story that’s going to help you scratch and itch this is perfect.

What’s better than one rockstar? How about 3? That’s what tattoo artist Sophia gets when a band walks into her tattoo studio in Tampa one night. She doesn’t expect to be propositioned by one, slap the other and be completely ignored by the last.

Ollie, Mazen and Cannon are 3 of the 4 members of Kings of Jupiter (the 4th is engaged). They stop in every city of their tour and get a tattoo to commemorate it. When their stop lands them in Sophia’s studio Ollie is enamored with her. He asks if she’s liked to be their full time tattoo artist and travel with them. Mazen and Sophia have a past…she just can’t remember it. This causes major drama and anger between the two creating banter and tension.

This book was very entertaining. It did take me a minute to get into but I am glad I stuck with it. I really loved the banter between Mazen and Sophia. It had this bully aspect that I of course enjoy. Ollie and Cannon’s side relationship was so yummy! I didn’t expect the twist at the end and I am looking forward to the next book.

This is Book One in the Ink and Lyric Duet and ends on a cliffhanger.

Speaking of cliffhanger… wow. My jaw dropped. I had no idea what kind of life our FMC Sophia had before she opened her tattoo studio. We get bits and pieces of why her and her sister live in Florida, but the reasons are unknown until we get to the end of book one. Sophia is extremely passionate about tattooing and is proud to own an all-female tattoo shop. She has tattooed a lot of people, but she doesn’t expect to be tattooing the men of an extremely popular rock band (whom she had to look up to find out if they were legit). Her and Oliver, the lead guitarist, hit it off right away… as in get down and dirty in the tattooing room… and they form a quick friendship. He invites her to be the band’s personal tattooist while they are on tour, but not before a confrontation with the lead singer, Mazen, that leaves her questioning if she should take the job. She knows it’s a once in a lifetime opportunity she can not pass up, and she could use the money she’s offered to open another studio. When she embarks on tour with the guys, Mazen is still a complete jerk to her, and she has no clue why. He does, though, and decides not to tell her because he is hurt by the fact that she doesn’t remember what happened between them years ago. Sophia is having fun on tour with the guys, which also includes the band’s drummer, Cannon. Her and Cannon have more of a quiet friendship, chatting via text, but there is an extreme attraction there. Sophia finds herself attracted to three members of the Kings of Jupiter, the fourth member is happily married, and it seems like she got herself into a pickle. She isn’t the relationship type, but these men have her feeling all sorts of things. She has a different type of connection with each of them, and it was fun to read and see how different each of the men were toward her. Sophia has lots of secrets, and we find out some of them toward the end of the book. It seemed like things were going ok until they weren’t. I can’t wait to read book two!

HOLY CRAP ON A CRACKER, Y'ALL!

Please note off the bat that this book ends on a HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE cliffhanger. I cannot wait for the next one. I had to pick up my jaw off the floor when there were no more pages to turn.

Things were just getting good. Sophie was starting with Oliver and Cannon. Cannon and Oliver were making up. Mazen and Sophie were working through some stuff. Everyone was on their way to one, big, happy family of Why Choose then...that ending.

I thought this was going to be a normal Why Choose book. I didn't realize (since I go in blind) that this was also going to be a romantic suspense. Ugh. I don't know if I can wait for July for Queen of Jupiter.

Thank you to The Author Agency and Nacole Stayton for this ARC. This is my honest to goodness opinion.
