I found this quite dull. The plot moves at a snail's pace. The movie is much better; the same story is told at a way better pace and tighter plot. In fact, this started out as a screenplay and a movie is what Sagan had always intended it to be.

I read this 6 years ago. But I remember the story enchanted me! It was very touching and very thrilling!

My only difficulty was with Mr. Sagan slow pace of storytelling. But that's no reason to avoid this book, the story really is unique and (the cliche) much better than the movie, more more intelligent!

Overall, very interesting context for Sagan. It kept your attention with Ellie’s story while also talking about history, art and science with passion. I enjoyed it and it still has something to be inspired by even in 2024.
