I really liked this book. The humor was fantastic.

Merged review:

While this isn't my favorite of the author's books that I've read (that goes to [b:Scaredy Cat|18745851|Scaredy Cat|Robin Alexander|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1383302069s/18745851.jpg|26628393]) I do like this one a lot. I liked it even more the second time around.

My second read is the audio version. The narrator did a good job for the most part. I wish there had been a bit more of a difference between the voices for the main characters and that Tina didn't sound so, I don't know, harsh all the time.

I probably would have gone 3.5 but I rounded up for Aunt C and Grams because they really made the book extra funny.

A very sweet later-in-life, first time f/f romance! Always a delight when books acknowledge that lesbians over 30 exist. Funny and charming and clever, with amazing narration for the audiobook.

Brilliant and fun read.
Robin Alexander writes some of the best older characters I’ve ever read.
Jorie’s grandmother and aunt definitely had me in stitches on more than one occasion and I can’t wait to embody their irreverence with my sister when we are older.

The story was fantastic. Two strangers meeting at an airport, when their flight is delayed they decide to drive home and along the way get to know each other as we get to know them.

Family is a huge theme in Just Jorie.

There’s also gay for you, late coming out, questions of friendship and support and very real relations and interactions between our mains characters and the people that surround them.

Excellent read and I can’t wait to dove in to more from this author.

Funny. So so funny, was trying not to wake my wife as I stayed up all night to read this book. Hot. Sweet. Drama free in the best of ways, which was refreshing and well done. Loved it.

Looks like I'm in the minority on this one, but Robin Alexander's cooky old ladies really missed the mark in this novel, and they basically ruined the entire reading experience. I know that's her thing--these zany old women (or previous-gen characters--I don't think they're always women), but it gets tired really quickly. And the problem is the romance in this is really lovely, but if my great aunt called me a "little shit" and a "slut" I wouldn't be hanging around with my family or believing any of the nonsense that family is everything. This woman tries to sabotage her great-niece's relationship and won't stay out of her business and I guess it was supposed to be funny but it really, really wasn't.

And, really, most of the side characters were useless or vile people that added nothing to the narrative. Well, everyone except for Jorrie's father and Lena's brother.

Also, no grown woman should refer to her vagina as a "whoo-ha." Jorrie does this multiple times. It's not funny. It's weird.

Really enjoyed the romance, though.

Loved

This is my 2nd book from Robin and yet again I loved it. I haven’t read many books that can do the romance and comedy so easily. Can’t wait for more!
