Cute enough, but featured a lack of communication with the main characters, which is not a favored trope for me, and otherwise lacked romantic tension by about 2/3rds of the way through. I still enjoyed it, but I got sincerely stuck around that 2/3 mark, so it's a relief to finally finish this one.

On a side note, loved the revelation (at least, I don't think it was mentioned before) that this is the same world as the Parasol Protectorate, just in modern times.

Sweet, Sensitive, Silly, Sexy Fun

The only thing better than the dialogue is the description. Old friends are back in top form(s) and new friends are delightfully fierce. The romance is sweet and very sexy. The shenanigans are riotous and delightful as a Shifter Pack block party BBQ. Looking forward to seeing what happens next in the chronicles of this delightful pack that embodies the best of found family.

3.5 stars I love these books on audio! I liked Collin and Judd together but they needed more communication!! It became a little frustrating to read. Collin’s mother was atrocious and I’m glad how that worked out.

dnf at 70%. i just couldn't care, judd seemed totally different, and his whole "gingersnap" thing wasn't my bag. idk. i wanted trick and the selkie mob but that was only remembered maybe once per 75 pages, which was a bummer.

I am so happy after reading this book. I have been waiting to read Colin's book, he is my favourite member of the pack. I loved watching him come out of his shell and hearing him start to voice some of internal snark. Judd is so sweet with him and so patient. I also really enjoyed the little easter egg in there for those of us who have read Gails other books. I can't wait for more of this series.

I have some mixed feelings about this one.
I liked the overall theme and vibes it was going for, but it felt distinctly... less polished than the author's other work. Some scenes at the beginning were almost awkward, while towards the end the humor was a bit too over the top, some jokes being dragged on for over a page.

Like the rest of the series, The Enforcer Enigma was all about affirming people in their right to be themselves, regardless of what is expected of them, particularly in regards to gay culture and werewolf traditions, both in-world and the readers' expectations. I liked that a lot, but at the same time, for me it lacked the last punch to really drive the point home, especially since in other areas is heavily relied on stereotypes.

Still, Judd and Colin grew on me, and I adore the cast of characters. I cannot wait for Lovejoy and Mana's book, and to see more of Trick.

Content warnings include: homophobia, child abandonment and neglect, verbal abuse, organized crime, cop propaganda, sex on-page; mentions of racism, bullying.
