Really enjoyed the complex sibling relationship. I just feel like towards the end, a chapter was missing, I had to rewind my audiobook to make sure I didn’t accidentally skip a part.

So it took me two library turns in two months to read this book because my anxiety was going to freaking crazy. I was gobsmacked by the ending but at the same time it felt so deserved and it was the opposite of what I wanted but I was oddly satisfied with it. It truly earned the “what’s going on” tag. I found this book from a booktok video where a person was talking about books where you have no clue what this woman is on about and they were RIGHT these women are women’s wrongs on so many levels and I’m losing my mind about it.

Actually 3.5 for me! This was something! First off I love reading a book set in Nigeria and how various aspects of Nigerian culture were infused throughout. The story is a good one, and the twist was solid. Probably predictable for some, but it was good. And the ending is a bit anti-climatic but it fits.

Korede is a well written character, and I like a lot of the side characters too. Muhtar ❤️

Overall though, it was a pretty decently paced book, and I liked the short chapters. Also the background into their childhood and things with their father was pretty good too. I’m not sure this story could’ve gone in many other directions but I feel like the last little bit fell a little bit flat and left me wanting a lot more than what was given.

The story was intriguing and well-written, but I would like to have learned more about Ayoola and why she desired so heavily to kill. I feel the story fell flat in some aspects

For some reason i thought it would ve funny, but its definitely not. Heavy on the family drama, and even though its not my favourite genre, i really enjoyed it.

I enjoyed the concept of this plot and how my emotions changed so suddenly as it went on. There was a lot of frustration, anxiety, tension, and pure outrage at times. The backstory of the sisters and the ways in which their lives revolved around their relationship with each other was very complex, but well-constructed. You need to be able to dig deep and analyse the messages within this work in order to fully appreciate. I only gave this a 3 because the pace was slower than I would have liked, and the ending was not my cup of tea.
