I loved the metaphor of an archer to trying things, learning and failing, adjusting, being comfortable in your own skin, and finding allies. Only a bit of the book was a story....at start and end. I wished more was told as a story versus “words of wisdom”. The advice was very clearly spelled out as it was compared to an archer, bow and arrows. Unlike in The Alchemist (which I really liked ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️), you didn’t need to dig for meaning. However, the advice is still good and sound. I enjoyed this little book.

Got this just to try to see something new about bows and got spiritual self help...

But it did had very good passages and a nice situation, mixed with overly philosophical stuff for simple things and others that didn't made sense, even in the original language it was published.

The Archer from Paulo Coelho opens with a stranger asking a boy if he’s seen Tetsuya, who the boy knows as the city’s carpenter. The stranger wants to challenge Tetsuya, who the stranger knows as the best archer in the country. After seeing Tetsuya’s impressive skills-that the boy had no clue the carpenter processed-he asks to be taught archery. Tetsuya agrees to teach the boy.

On the surface, The Archer is a story about an experienced archer teaching a young boy the way of the bow.
The bigger picture is how to humbly advance in an activity, and the lessons taught can be used for anything someone is learning or doing. Be open to making mistakes, be intentional, remember simplicity. Practice and repeat until it becomes intuitive.

It’s important to know going into this novel that this isn’t a story as much as it is a self-help book. It’s an inspirational advice ridden tale meant for each reader to simply take what they need from it.
