The Good Sister

Sally Hepworth

4.07 AVERAGE

This was my least favorite by Sally Hepworth so far. It lacked suspense for me. Ultimately, the ending was kinda boring.

I loved Fern’s character though. You get to know her so well and I love the bits of humor in Hepworth’s writing.

Thriller? No. I would categorize The Good Sister as a drama. The introduction and understanding of living and dating on the spectrum is well written. A delightful, comfy read with bits of wittinesses and a happy ending.

4.5 - i really enjoyed this thriller and can’t wait to check out this author’s others books! this wasn’t too scary and i felt like we really got to know the main characters so i got very attached to them. i thought the plot was super interesting and it kept me invested, even though there weren’t a ton of twists and turns throughout. i really loved the neurodivergent representation as well. this is perfect for anyone who wants to get into thrillers

I really joyed the character of Fern and could appreciate the importance of libraries and the importance of them to such a wide range of community members.

The twists and turns were amazing. This was such a quick, engaging read. I really enjoyed to characters and the format of the book was cool with part being first person and part being a diary. Great summer read!

Ok i really like Sally Hepworth! I don’t think you can necessarily call her books “thrillers” or “mysteries” because it’s pretty obvious what’s going on BUT the familial relationship dynamics and drama is more than enough for me!
