So good! I was not prepared for the direction this book headed! So worthwhile and the resolution was everything I wanted!
dark tense fast-paced

Fern and Rose are twin sisters and are very different. Rose is the responsible one, with a home, a husband and a fierce desire to become a mother. Fern is the quirky one, a librarian who avoids social interaction and whom the world might just describe as truly odd. The sisters are devoted to one another and Rose has always been Fern’s protector even from a young age. Years ago, Fern did something very bad and Rose never told a soul. When Fern decides to help her sister achieve her dream of having a baby, things between the sisters start to change. This book is about the ties that bind sisters together and the secrets that are hidden underneath the bond.

Sally Hepworth has done it again!! I was hooked on this book and couldn’t stop listening. I feel with all her books, she knows how to develop the characters and you genuinely wanted the best for them; well with this book just one of the sisters. The book was told with alternating character chapters which I enjoyed and really got to know how the other felt. I loved Fern and Wally, they have a ‘Eleanor Oliphant is completely fine’ vibe and made me feel all happy inside. I was so pleased of how one of the characters seemed to grow within themselves as the book developed. It was fast paced with many twists, at points I was nervous about going into the next chapter. A twisty ending and of course I cried at the end. 5 HUGE STARS

It's a 5 star read for me. I felt the same enjoyment from reading about our main heroine as I felt when I read Strange Sally Diamond (though that one was darker).
I don't think it is mystery thriller, it's more of a domestic drama.
Long story short - it will not mind changing, but it's well written book, and it was what I needed at the moment.

Mixed feelings on this one! I know thrillers can’t be super realistic but this one really pushed the plausibility envelope. I enjoyed the book, however the ending was hard for me to buy. Math wasn’t mathin for me.

This book was highly recommended and it definitely lived up to the hype! I went into this book blind and it was amazing! The ending threw me for a curveball and blew my mind. I highly recommend adding this to your TBR!

Synopsis: Rose and Fern are twins who could not be more different. Fern is quirky and works at her local library. She avoids loud noises, crowds, and bright lights. She is very meticulous and has to stick to her routine. Fern will do anything and everything for her sister because Rose has always taken care of her. Rose has always tried to keep Fern out of trouble, except for one incident in which they have kept a secret their whole lives.

Rose's marriage is on the rocks and she finds out she is unable to get pregnant. Since Rose has always been there for Fern, Fern decides to repay her by trying to have a baby for her. Can Fern find someone to father the baby? Will her secret come back to haunt her?

Although I could have done w/out the spice(which wasn't bad in comparison to some books), as a psych nurse, I loved reading about a romance between two neurotypical person and another person with narcissistic personality disorder (my guess). Anyone, it was a great read.

Recommended by my sister as one of her fav authors. Agreed with her. The storyline was great and kept me turning the pages. A tad predictable but the way the twists were narrated had me going. Will look out for more of her books
