- Very successful split POV. Each sister's voice was so distinct, I loved being in Fern's head in particular.
- The stakes felt high and I cared about the characters
- The unreliable narrator was effective, I enjoyed the reveal.
Hot take, this is in my top five reads of the year.
To be honest, I didn’t pay close enough attention to the cover, blurb or general hype around this book before reading. And I’ll admit, initially, I thought it was a light-hearted meet cute. Boy, did I misread the entire thing. I was delightfully surprised by the depth of both the characters and plot and didn’t see the final upper-cut before it was too late.
10/10. I was finally taken off-guard by a thriller.

So deliciously dark and twisted! One of the best psychological suspense books I've read. I will definitely be reading more Sally Hepworth books this year!
