The split of having a protagonist who is neurodivergent and the other one who is queer, this book is just incredible. One of my favorite things about it aside from the fact that it satisfies like 2 notches in BookRiot’s Read Harder challenge is the way Tay’s character is written, she is a great example of what good representation is!!! I read Jen Wilde’s second book The Brightsiders which if you haven’t picked it up please do! It’s incredible! But flipping between Charlie and Tay Is so interesting because you see the difference between the two but you see why they are friends. It’s awesome!

It’s a soft book that would probably have benefited from being longer. Everything happens in a weekend – which I can understand, since that’s how long most conventions are – and it feels a bit rushed. You get everything thrown at you at once. I don’t feel like I had enough time with the characters to get to enjoy any of them, even though one of them is very similar to me.

I wish it had been more of a SDCC kinda con (which I thought it was gearing up to be, with where it is and all the star sighting), going on for a week. I think it would have given more time to flesh out the characters and their relationships.

I also didn’t love the aphobia in there, but I’ll let it go since it’s an older novel.

Cute, but I wouldn’t reread it.

This book made my little nerdy anxiety-ridden queer heart so happy! Absolutely adorable. This takes place at a convention and I love that! It is absolutely adorable how geeky these characters are!  I also LOVE the two love stories in this! Absolutely, with all my heart, I ship them both so hard! So cute.  I think this book did an excellent job with its anxiety rep and I totally feel for Tay! She is such an amazing character! I also loved all the character growth that Charlie went through! Great book, highly recommend for a quick light read!
