Actually started reading this sometime last year and put it down for a while and... here we are. I never know how to rate collections of stories because mostly I like one story more than the others and - yeah.

But it did surprise me because in summer of 2020 I read just the story When My Wife Was a Shiitake for one of my online Japanese lectures and only by picking up this book did I remember it and realized who the author was. My memory tends to be bad sometimes :)

Solid 3.5 - enjoyable short stories but now that I’ve finished I honestly couldn’t tell you anything about any of them 🤷🏻‍♀️ but I enjoyed reading them

It’s an easy read . Since this is a collections of short stories, it’s good when you don’t feel liked investing your time in a novel.

Things remembered and things forgotten was a very enjoyable book with most of the stories being slower and more relaxed but my favourites were the ghost stories as she had such unique concepts

The only issue for me see some of the slower stories went on for too long and I’d get a little bored so I would have to be in the right mood to read them
