I loved the premise of this read - what if you could outsource all the mental load, minutiae of your day, for a cost?
Three friends approaching different transitory periods are struggling in different ways. When this idea pops up, they take a gamble and try running a wife app. When the app starts gaining traction, what does it mean for each of them? and how does it change them?
I enjoyed seeing Sophie, Lauren, and Madeline work through this in their own different ways!
Thank you to Netgalley and to Simon & Schuster for the ARC.

Thank you Simon & Schuster for the chance to read this book on NetGalley.
5 star entertainment all the way! I was hooked from the synopsis alone; I mean what a neat concept!! I felt like this was a wholly original and unique concept with some very relatable characters and life stories that felt messy in a way all moms/wives could understand.
I have been reading Carolyn Mackler books since I was a teenager, and I am still hands down a FAN! This one gets all the stars from me and I really hope there are more adult books coming from Mackler soon! I would recommend this to any of my mom friends and even some friends without kids who just enjoy a good look into the life of a family.
I really enjoyed how the chapters bounced between the 3 mom friends and how each friend had their own "issues" they were working through with their ex-husbands and kids. Madeline really reminded me of Samantha from Sex in the City and that was fun!
Many moments made me laugh out loud or roll my eyes; read this if you enjoy a good laugh and can appreciate the struggle of trying to do it all and keep everyone happy.

This book was very enjoyable. I loved following the main characters and seeing how they overcame their challenges and made a name for themselves.
Moments made me laugh but it still tackled heavy topics. I loved the ending and it was such a fun book.
It reminded me a lot of the movie the First Wives Club and while they are different, they have similar vibes and levels of fun with seriousness.
The creation of the app felt a bit fast and under researched from an engineering standpoint but the book didn’t talk about the app creation and coding much so it was very forgivable.

✨What it is about:
A group of friends, finally done with their ex husbands who took them for granted, go on a girls night and jokingly talk about all a wife does for free, and how they should build an app that monetizes the mental load. It starts as a joke, but soon they make it happen, stick it to their exes, and the app becomes the fastest growing startup in NYC. ✨
💭My thoughts:
This was a very unique and modern story that was interesting and very well developed. Watching Sophie, Lauren and Madeline rise from their failed marriages along with their children, and be so productive and hardworking to achieve their success, was fun. Their exes were total tools, and I was so glad when the girls’ business took off like it did. It was no easy feat, but the process allowed all the ladies to grow and become their best selves, and that is always something I enjoy in stories. I loved how the women supported each other through the journey too. The ending was satisfying, and I think this would be a fun movie to watch.
