I really enjoyed the concept and it was a fun read. I didn't necessarily like how everything wrapped up, and wanted a little more depth or complexity to the characters. 3.5 stars.

A wonderful book about female friendships and getting justice for your shitty marriages. Honestly this doesn't get too high of a rating from me because I was kinda waiting for something to go wrong, sorta the "third-act breakup" and nothing ever came. I liked the premise and I was so happy that everyone was finally living their lives how they wanted, especially Sophie. I would've liked to have more development between her and Beatrice but oh well. This book just didn't give me enough yknow? Enough emotion. I liked how it focused on the unpaid emotional and physical labor wives and mothers do and made me think of what my mom does for our family. Obviously I'm not going to pay my mother to do stuff, but it does make me more appreciative and makes me think our whole family should be more appreciative of her for the things she does. And that we as her family members should show that appreciation more often.
Soooooo why isn’t the Wife App a real thing? The concept of reducing a wife’s Mental Load is so completely overlooked even in modern society…this thing would make millions!!
The whole time I was reading this book, it reminded me THOROUGHLY of my own life and the lives of my friends…who would all benefit from something this simple. Unpaid labor takes such an extreme toll on our physical/mental/emotional health…and we can’t escape it!
I thought the characters were so well-written, and the plot? Both the characters and plot could have been pulled from my own life (aside from actually developing an app; the people I know are hopeless w tech). But the startup? The pitfalls and successes? The friendships that prove to be bomb proof? The relationship struggles as we move from eager 20-somethings just finding our way in the world to mid-40’s moms of teens? All of it spoke to me.
I can’t recommend this book highly enough. The writing was quick and engaging, the characters were sharp and modern, the parenting was spot on, and the plot itself? Please find a way to make that app happen!
Thanks to NetGalley, the author, and Simon & Schuster for a review copy!

Thank you to NetGalley and Simon & Schuster for the eARC! I was so intrigued by the premise: three friends create an app for people to be paid to take on others’ mental load? Can this be a real thing?

Usually, I mainly read romance novels but when I heard of this book, I was intrigued with the story. This book is about three divorcees who develop an app that gives jobs that usually wives do for free. I felt connected with this story and loved the positive message the book gave its readers. It’s a book that should have been written long ago and is much needed by readers. This is a very well-written story with a great plot line and conflicts. Told from multiple povs, the characters were very well-developed and I enjoyed their stories. There are some sex scenes but it’s the side part of this book. The ending was a bit disappointing as it didn’t feel special or unique. Overall this book was very well written and I recommend it to anyone looking for a good women’s fiction novel.

ok, let's write about this book.
first of all this is very good concept, plot, whatever you wanna call it, i mean sometimes i feel like i'm always reading the same stuff which it's not bad at all but i think sometimes we need to discover and explore other things.
i have to say that since i'm still young i don't know that much about business and serious relationships so obvious there where some parts of book that i felt a little confused and overwhelmed ?? IDK, still i really liked that the book was centered equally to all the characters and not give more importance to one. i have to say though, i wanted so much to that stupid men ( the husbands iof the main charaters and the fiancés) to got to hell if not even worse, it was always so infuriating when they were talking, like shut up for one minute.
by the way i like how Sophie and Beatrice ended up, like they are so good souls they don't deserve any jerk aka Joshua like the boy is so annoying like your kid is going through really serious stuff and you say they don't need help and therapy that if they stop picking their fingers you'll give an lego ( like i don't have any words to describe this man).

I received an advanced copy of this book, scheduled to be released on June 27, 2023.
Three best friends find themselves divorced, and tired of being take advantage of during their time as wives and mothers. During a night out, the three women joke that they should get paid to complete the tasks that wives often do without any recognition. The Wife App is born, and soon clients sign up to have their Mental Loads handled by a hired wife - the "Wives" do anything from buying birthday presents, to filling out school registration forms, to scheduling doctor appointments. Throughout the journey as entrepreneurs, the three women learn a lot about themselves on their own journeys.
A quick read for the summer highlighting the empowerment of women.

The Wife App is such a thought provoking read. I expected it to be light and fluffy (for lack of a better phrase) based on a few blurbs I read about. I was wrong and am glad I was. This story follows three friends, Lauren, Madeline and Sophie, on their individual journeys as well as how they come together to empower each other and show other women what they are worth. This story was so unique and I will definitely recommend to a lot of women in my life.

This was such a fun easy read! I can definitely picture this as a Netflix series, along the lines of The Working Moms. Three tipsy best friends decide to come up with “The Wife App” - monetizing tasks that wives tend to take on for free - as a way to get revenge on their ex-husbands. I laughed and commiserated while reading this, so much of it was painfully true, but with an edge of flavorful fiction added to make it even more fun and compelling.
Because every wife deserves a happy ending.
