The plot had intrigued me, the beginning of the book had intrigued me but after getting past the halfway point the themes and the musings got so repetitive I started to lose interest. I had hoped that by the end of the book my mind would be blown and that I would think the entire plot clever. But, that didn’t happen. The book should have been shorter and Olivia’s back and forth in her thoughts started to grate on me.
Overall, it’s not horrible but it felt like the author started with such a great idea and a great ending but couldn’t figure out how to fill in the middle parts. And thus went on and on about the same “thoughts” and the same “opinions”. No new information and no new updates. And then the whole thing with her ex just…stopped. It was mentioned frequently in the beginning and then nothing else happened. The execution definitely could have been better.

This was kind of a fun homage to one of my favorite books , Rebecca. It's nowhere near as good as Rebecca , but it was a good light thriller.
An interesting idea, although I'm not an ardent fan of Rebecca and Daphne du Maurier. The mystery kept me reading, but if wrapped up pretty quickly and easily. I bought it in the airport and read it on the plane. It was a good plan read.

This is only the second book that I’ve read by Jillian Cantor, but I’m already a huge fan. I love her talent to reimagine and rewrite the classics.
This book was okay. I was expecting the ending to be more exciting and interesting. I felt the end was boring and left the reader wanting more.
