Fun romp with meaningful ideas about what makes art, how growing up isn't always fun, and the many ways we can deal with loss. But VERY funny, much in keeping with other lighthearted fantasy Kingfisher has written.

Also fanged radishes, plus the other illuminations described are wonderfully zany.

I like all of t kingfishers wizard books. They cute and fun. I enjoy them for a cozy afternoon where nothing bad happens and no one really gets hurt but still good writing.

This was cute! Compared to A Wizard's Guide to Defensive Baking this felt much more like true middle grade fantasy fare, although maybe because of that I also found the story less gripping. Still a fun concept and I do love a magic family.
